INVEST AND SETTLE IN FRANCE WITH THE TALENT PASSPORT

Investors, founders and company officers can get a residence card of up to 4 years in France, for themselves and their family. We support investors from all over Asia and prepare your file with you, from the business plan to your card.

Updated October 2026

You want to invest, create a company or run a company in France? The Talent Passport has special categories for investors, founders and company officers. They give you a multi-year residence card, and your family can come with you. Here are the routes and their conditions in 2026, explained simply.

In short

  • Direct investment: at least €300,000 in France, and jobs.
  • Business creation: €30,000 of funding and a master's level.
  • No A2 French test or civic exam for the Talent card.
  • Your spouse and children get a "talent-famille" card.

Direct economic investment

  • Amount: at least €300,000 invested in tangible or intangible fixed assets in France, such as equipment, premises or intellectual property.
  • Control: you invest personally, or through a company that you manage or in which you hold at least 30% of the capital.
  • Jobs: you create or save jobs in France, or you commit to do so.
  • Proof: you show the jobs created or saved over the 4 years following the investment.
  • Documents: proof of management or of at least 30% of the capital, proof of the €300,000 investment, a business plan with your job commitments year by year, and proof of the jobs.
  • French Tech Visa for Investors: before your visa, you can ask the French Ministry of the Economy online for a letter acknowledging your investment project. You send your passport, your CV, your investment track record, a bank statement showing at least €300,000 and a letter of undertaking.

Business creation

  • Profile: a diploma at least equivalent to a master's, or 5 years of professional experience at a comparable level.
  • Project: a real and serious project to create a company in France, with at least €30,000 of funding.
  • Resources: at least the full-time minimum wage, €22,404.20 gross per year.
  • Attestation: before your application, you ask online for an attestation that your project is real and serious. You send your business model, a market study, your diplomas or experience, and proof of your investment. The attestation is valid for 12 months.

Innovative economic project

  • Your innovative project is recognised by a French public body
  • Your resources are at least €22,404.20 gross per year

Company officer (mandataire social)

  • You are the legal representative of a company established in France
  • You have worked for at least 3 months in the same group, as an employee or an officer
  • Your salary is at least 3 times the minimum wage: €67,212.60 gross per year

How to apply, cost and family

  • From abroad: apply for a visa at the French consulate. For a stay of less than 12 months, the visa counts as your residence permit and you validate it online within 3 months. For 1 year or more, you then apply for your card online on ANEF.
  • From France: apply online on ANEF, within 2 months after your arrival with a long-stay visa, or between 4 and 2 months before your current permit ends.
  • Cost: €350 (€300 tax and €50 stamp duty) when the card is granted.
  • French language: the Talent card is not concerned by the A2 French level and the civic exam required since 2026 for most multi-year cards. For the 10-year resident card later, you will need French level B1 and the civic exam.
  • Family: your spouse and minor children come through the simplified "accompanying family" procedure, without family reunification, and your spouse can work in France.

Be careful: the administration checks that your investment and the jobs are real, over several years. Keep all your proof: contracts, accounts and your employees' payslips. You will need them to renew your card.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Questions & Answers

Can I buy a house or an apartment to get the investor Talent Passport?
No, not a home for yourself. The €300,000 must be invested in the fixed assets of an economic activity in France, such as equipment, business premises or intellectual property, and the project must create or save jobs.
Do I need to speak French?
Not for the Talent card. It is not concerned by the A2 French level and the civic exam required since 2026 for most multi-year cards. Later, for the 10-year resident card, you will need French level B1 and the civic exam. TSA Academy can prepare you.
How many jobs must I create?
The official conditions do not give a fixed number. You must create or save jobs in France, or commit to do so within 4 years after the investment, with a business plan that shows your commitments year by year.
Can my family come with me?
Yes. Your spouse and your minor children come through the simplified "accompanying family" procedure, without family reunification. They receive a "talent-famille" card, and your spouse can work in France.
Is there an official letter to support my investment project?
Yes. Through the "French Tech Visa for Investors" online procedure, you can ask the French Ministry of the Economy for a letter acknowledging your investment project, before your visa application.
How long is the card valid, and can I renew it?
The card is valid for up to 4 years. You can renew it if your investment and the jobs are real, so keep all your proof. After 5 years of legal residence, you can apply for the 10-year resident card.
